💚 July – culture, inclusion, sustainability, safety, wellbeing and community
July brings a meaningful mix of awareness days, cultural learning, environmental action, health and wellbeing dates, and playful opportunities for early learning services. With Plastic Free July, Disability Pride Month, NAIDOC Week 2026, National Diabetes Week, National Farm Safety Week and National Tree Day, July offers many opportunities to support children’s learning around belonging, respect, identity, sustainability, safety and care for others.
This month’s calendar includes a thoughtful mix of Australian and international events — from Coming of the Light, International Fruit Day, International Joke Day and World Chocolate Day, to Teddy Bear Picnic Day, World Snake Day, Nelson Mandela International Day, National Pyjama Day, Schools Tree Day, Christmas in July and International Day of Friendship. You do not need to recognise every date. Instead, choose the events that best reflect your children, families, local community and service philosophy.
The July calendar helps make planning more intentional while creating space for family voice, cultural responsiveness, environmental awareness, health and safety reminders, and meaningful community connections.
Available in A3 and A4 wall formats, plus an A4 list version, the calendar includes:
• Links to EYLF V2.0 Learning Outcomes
• Connections to the National Quality Standard
• Space for family ideas and contributions
• Room to add local events and service-specific celebrationsIt is a helpful resource for strengthening Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice and Quality Area 6 – Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities, while making learning visible in everyday planning.
