Document Commonwealth Games Learning with Our Free Learning Story Pack!
The Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July to 2 August 2026, bringing together athletes from across the Commonwealth to participate in a major international sporting event often known as the Friendly Games.
For early childhood services, the Commonwealth Games can be a fun and meaningful opportunity to explore movement, teamwork, inclusion, fairness, countries, flags, celebrations, persistence and belonging through play-based learning.
This free pack has been created to help educators document children’s learning, conversations and participation as they take part in Commonwealth Games-inspired experiences within the early learning environment.

Set up simple outdoor stations such as running, jumping, throwing beanbags, balancing, obstacle courses or relay games so children can move, cheer and participate at their own level. - Medal Making and Celebration Play
Invite children to create their own medals using cardboard, foil, ribbon, collage materials or paint, then talk about effort, participation and celebrating everyone’s strengths. - Flags and Countries Discovery Table
